Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 2, 2026

Our Commitment to Transparency

PointsBoarding participates in affiliate marketing programs. This means we may earn a commission when you click on links to products or services and make a purchase or open an account, at no additional cost to you. Our editorial content, including card reviews and program guides, reflects our own research and opinions and is not written or reviewed by the banks, airlines, or hotel programs we cover. We only recommend products and services we believe provide genuine value to our readers.

Who We Are

Our website address is: https://pointsboarding.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our site, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Your Consent

By using our website, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you sign up for our email list, you are separately agreeing to receive emails from us, and you can withdraw that consent at any time by unsubscribing. If you do not agree with this policy, please discontinue use of the site.

Information We Collect

We collect information in a few different ways: automatically through analytics when you browse the site, directly from you if you sign up for our email list, and indirectly through cookies placed by affiliate partners when you click an affiliate link. Comments are disabled across our site, so we do not collect any information through a comment form.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our site, including pages viewed, time on site, general location at the city or region level, and the site or search engine that referred you here. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Email List

If you sign up for our email list, we collect your email address and use Brevo to store it and send you emails such as points and miles tips and article updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email we send. We do not sell or rent your email address to third parties.

Affiliate Links & Cookies

Some links on this site are affiliate links. When you click one, a cookie may be placed on your device by the affiliate network (such as CJ Affiliate or Impact) or the merchant, so that if you make a purchase or open an account, we may receive a commission. This tracking is handled by the affiliate network or merchant, not by PointsBoarding directly, and is subject to their own privacy policies. We do not currently run third-party display advertising on this site; if that changes, we will update this policy.

Comments

Comments are disabled across our entire site, including on articles and media pages. We do not collect names, email addresses, IP addresses, or any other data through a comment form, because that form does not exist on our site.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Embedded Content From Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content, such as videos, images, or social media posts. Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if you had visited the other website directly, and that site may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that content.

Who We Share Your Data With

We share data with the third-party services described above: Google Analytics for site analytics, Brevo for email list management, and affiliate networks such as CJ Affiliate and Impact when you click an affiliate link. If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email. We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Do We Sell Your Information?

No. We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we never have. We earn money through affiliate commissions when you click a link and choose to open a card or account, and that’s it. The only reason your data ever leaves our hands is to run the site itself, through the services already described on this page: Google Analytics for traffic data, Brevo to manage our email list, and affiliate networks that need to know a click came from us in order to pay us a commission. None of those relationships involve us being paid for your data itself.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of that information, and opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, as those terms are defined under California law. We do not sell personal information for money. Some of our analytics and advertising cookies may be considered “sharing” under California’s broad definition. To exercise these rights, contact us using the information below.

International Visitors (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have additional rights over your personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your data, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our legal basis for processing your data is generally your consent (such as signing up for our email list) or our legitimate interest in operating and improving the site.

Children’s Privacy

PointsBoarding is intended for adults and is not directed at children. Because much of our content covers credit cards and other financial products that generally require users to be at least 18, our site is not intended for use by anyone under 18. Separately, and in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Data Security

We take reasonable technical and administrative steps to protect the information we collect, including relying on our hosting provider’s and email platform’s security practices. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

How Long We Retain Your Data

Email addresses collected through our signup form are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. For users that register on our website, if any, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile, which they can view, edit, or delete at any time except for their username.

Your Rights Over Your Data

If you have an account on this site or are subscribed to our email list, you can request an exported copy of the personal data we hold about you. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you, except where we are required to retain it for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will update the effective date at the top of this page when we do. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
